Raya, Yona and Tomoko helped compost today. We've nearly used all the material on the future garden areas. Tomoko brought some good ideas for furture garden (like moving herb garden into shaded area).

Work Day
We got our first garden patch preped, fenced and seeded! Nanci pictured cutting posts for the fence. Getting compost for plot are Silda, Elisabeth and Lisa. 1-4" of compost, gypsum and bone meal were added. The berm was planted with bunch grass seed mix and "butterfly" flower mix. The garden was planted with cover crop mix and "butterfly" flower mix too.Thursday, November 3, 2011
Work Day & Carts
Connor & Elizabeth helped on today's work day. The goal was to assemble the 2 new gardening carts. These carts have two wheels, axel under the weight, removable end for dumping, and level surface to haul all sorts of materials... all ideal for garden work.

Work Day
Elizabeth and Connor helped put together the picnic tables. We're now ready to seat 20 people easily. Nice work! Note in background the compost bins have shrunk nearly 50% in volume in only 1.5 weeks.Saturday, September 3, 2011

First Garden Work Day
The first work day at the Garden! Students Nate and Leia came and helped with bib drains. Faculty Robert H put up tool racks and shelving.
